Clarice A. Snoddy papers, 1893-1973.

This collection consists primarily of correspondence. Clarice Snoddy owned a farm in Smith County, Kan., and corresponded with her tenant about agricultural activities. There is also a large amount of correspondence from her brother, Wayne, and his first & second wives discussing family affairs and daily activities. Another section of the correspondence deals with the Pioneer Mortgage Company, in which Miss Snoddy was an investor. Other correspondence is related to other family members; her 50 years of teaching activities in Osage County, Topeka & other Kansas locations, and Haskell Institute (now Haskell Indian Nations University) (Lawrence, Kan.) & other federal Indian schools; and other topics. Papers Miss Snoddy presented on her experiences teaching in government Indian schools are also included as are postcards containing correspondence and miscellaneous materials such as school programs & club booklets.
